Dear readers and guests,

this summer has already given us wonderful days and evenings. Life is gradually coming back to the hotels and restaurants with increasing opportunities to experience cultural activities again. Thus, meaningful and impressive concerts already took place, such as at the jubilee of the Mozart Festival. How wonderful! Our house is also finally awakening from its Corona-induced hibernation. In the spirit of Charlie Chaplin, we are not letting our worries get the better of us and can hardly wait to be able to pamper you in our house again.

We have used this quiet time eagerly. Long overdue work has been completed, the loft and cellar have been cleared out, minor repairs have been carried out and above all new and wonderful projects have been put into practice.

A wonderful and cosy new junior suite was created in the loft area. Once again, our team has managed to successfully combine our style convincingly- tradition and modernity. As with most of our suites, junior suites and superior double rooms, the theme here is all about Würzburg. In this case, the interior is dedicated to a well-known Würzburg family, which cultivates patronage in the cultural field in the best sense of the word, through portraits of several generations. Because I feel very closely connected to this family, it was a special moment to see it completed.

Thanks to the generous loan of a former exhibit of the Martin von Wagner Museum which these dear friends also made available to me, an elegant superior double room could also be realised. Here, the Etruscan theme is atmospherically presented in shades of grey and gold. The Martin von Wagner Museum in Würzburg has an extremely important Etruscan collection.

Our popular family room was given the motto “Nobel Prize Winners” in the course of a renovation in keeping with the “Würzburg” theme of the house. To date, there are already 14 of them, such as Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, Klaus von Klitzing, Hans Spermann and Emil Fischer. In the spacious rooms of the flat, you can become a researcher and discoverer yourself.

Now, finally, the second of our suites, as well as another superior double room, have also been given an appropriate Würzburg reference – Bathasar Neumann. This ingenious master builder of the Baroque period has already made himself immortal through the world-famous construction of the Würzburg Residence. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site and well worth a visit for its unique staircase with Tiepolo’s ceiling fresco.

There are also many other examples of Balthasar Neumann’s architecture to be discovered in the city. Not least the Käppele, the extraordinary pilgrimage chapel that towers over the city. Wonderful walks can be taken to Balthasar’s architectural monuments. You can enjoy the day in a wonderfully relaxed fashion, away from the crowds. Along the way you will find popular places to stop for coffee and cake, a glass of Franconian wine and a nice meal, also under Corona conditions. What more could you want!

Since Balthasar Neumann has left such a lasting and unique mark on the cityscape, we are dedicating another room to him. This specific superior double room is currently under construction.
